Sanguine Short Mat Bowls Club – Club Rules 2017

1. The membership fee for full members is £100.00 per annum as agreed at Sanguine Short Mat Bowls Club (hereafter referred to as SSMBC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 20th April 2017.   Payments of £25.00 per member shall be made on 1st January, 1st April, 1st July and 1st October.

The membership fee for associate members is £60.00 per annum. Payments of £15.00 per associate member shall be payable on the above dates.

2. The club’s bowling evening is each Thursday from 7.00 p.m. until 10.00 p.m. and members should aim to start bowling activities by 7.30 p.m. Please deal with any business such as paying fees, entering competitions etc., during the tea/coffee break.
3. All players representing SSMBC in league matches, competition or friendly games shall wear club shirts (discretion may be exercised for new members or players helping out if we are short of players in friendly matches).
4. Fees incurred by members playing away games shall be the responsibility of the players involved.
5. Any member suffering a long-term illness shall have their subscriptions reviewed by the management committee.
6. Any member resigning from SSMBL shall have to wait 365 days before re-joining unless all outstanding fees are paid in full.
7. The competition fee for The League Memorial Trophy shall be paid by SSMBC.
8. Potential new members shall be allowed three visits per person prior to applying to join SSMBC, and full or associate membership shall be at the discretion of the management committee.

The mat fee for casual visitors shall be £2.00 per person per evening

9. Any member wishing to leave the SSMBC shall advise the secretary accordingly in writing.
10. It is expected that all members will be actively involved in setting up as necessary on club or match nights and will assist with kitchen duties and clearing away equipment at the end of the evening.
11. It is expected that whoever is responsible for locking up after games shall ensure all windows are shut, lights turned off and all club equipment is safely stored away.
12. All competitions shall be advertised on the notice board, and all members shall be given an equal opportunity to participate.   The teams selected from those members wishing to play shall also be shown on the notice board.
13. No alteration/s shall be made to the Constitution except at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) or Special General Meeting (SGM) convened by the management committee.

Any alteration/s to Club rules shall be made by the management committee at the Annual General meeting (AGM) or Special General Meeting (SGM) convened by the management committee.

The management committee shall convene Special General Meetings as considered appropriate to cover the business of the club.

14. SSMBC shall have two teams registered to play league matches in season 2017/2018; one in division 3 and one in division 7.   Team selection shall be decided by the management committee elected by the club, but with the aim of ensuring as many club members play in the division and team position of their choice.
15. Any problems arising that are not specifically covered by the above rules shall be resolved to the satisfaction of all concerned on merit, in a polite manner and in a common sense way.
